Elephants are the largest land mammals on earth, they repopulate across Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. There are 3 species of elephant, the African bush, the African forest, and the Asian. The ancestors of all elephants (including Eritherium, Phosphatherium, Moeritherium, and Numidotherium) were small in size and had a tapir-like trunk, a pair of hippo like tusks, and little ears.
