Bison

The prairie is home to the evolved bison. Bison are modern day animals with a woolly coat that help them to stay warm. In the science fiction movie, After Earth, herds of bison roamed across the planet Earth. A group of bison is called a herd and they run, walk and roam in the western prairies and forests of Europe and North America. Both of the 2 species of bison (the American bison and the European bison or Wisent) eat plants, grass, and roots, When threatened, they protect their herds from predators by circling their young. In the movie, bison have long and strong horns and a hump on their backs like a Camel. They grunt and burp and snarl and groan and moan in the entire American and European continents. In popular culture, the American bison is often found in many songs and videos, books and movies.
